Horizon Quantum Computing has joined the QuEra Quantum Alliance with the aim to take a new step in software integration for neutral-atom quantum computing.
The partnership links Horizon Quantum’s tools for simplifying quantum programming with QuEra’s leading hardware platform based on neutral atoms.
The goal is to make it easier for developers to write and run quantum applications, even without deep expertise in quantum physics, QuEra pointed out. Horizon’s software is designed to allow programmers to build quantum programs using conventional programming methods, which can then be compiled and deployed on QuEra’s systems.

“QuEra is at the forefront of advancing neutral atom quantum computing, a technology that is rapidly emerging as a promising path to scalable quantum computing,” Dr Joe Fitzsimons, CEO of Horizon Quantum, noted in the announcement. “We are delighted to collaborate with QuEra to provide developers with the tools they need to harness this architecture effectively.”
QuEra, based in Boston, focuses on neutral-atom quantum computing, a modality that arranges individual atoms into reconfigurable arrays for quantum processing. The company launched its Quantum Alliance in 2024 to bring together a global network of hardware, software, and services providers committed to advancing the neutral-atom approach. Since its launch, the Alliance has grown to include more than 25 members from North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East.
The addition of Horizon Quantum, a Singapore-based company founded by quantum physicist Joe Fitzsimons, expands the Alliance’s software capabilities. Horizon has focused on developing automated algorithm synthesis and quantum compilation tools, offering a bridge between traditional software development and the emerging quantum stack.
The companies indicated the plan is to support joint development efforts and customer-facing projects, with a focus on accelerating enterprise adoption. By easing the process of application development and deployment, they hope to lower barriers for industries exploring early quantum advantage.
“We are excited to welcome Horizon Quantum to the QuEra Quantum Alliance,” noted Yuval Boger, Chief Commercial Officer at QuEra Computing. “We believe that their deep expertise in quantum software, especially automated algorithm synthesis and quantum compilation, will play a pivotal role in expanding the practical utility of our neutral-atom quantum systems.”
