CNBC’s “Cities of Success: Denver & Boulder” special, set to air on Thursday, April 11 at 10pm ET/PT, will take a deep dive into how these Colorado cities have emerged as burgeoning hubs of quantum computing alongside tech, life sciences, and venture capital, according to a news release from the network.

Anchored by CNBC’s Carl Quintanilla, a native of the area, the program not only celebrates the economic diversification achieved since the 1980s but also addresses the challenges these cities face, such as affordable housing shortages, increasing homelessness, and the influx of migrants.

“Growing up in Denver and Boulder in the 1980s, I watched the cities’ economies handle some painful swings so it’s incredible to see how they’ve now diversified beyond energy and aerospace into tech, quantum computing, life sciences, venture capital and more,” said Quintanilla. “It was exciting to go back to Colorado for this special and speak to the business leaders about how far Denver and Boulder have come and what obstacles they are facing for future growth.”

With quantum technology positioned as a key driver of growth, the special emphasizes the cities’ pivotal moment in navigating their socioeconomic landscapes while fostering innovation in quantum computing.

Featuring interviews with prominent leaders like Colorado Governor Jared Polis and Denver Mayor Mike Johnston, the special shines a light on the role of quantum computing could have in Denver and Boulder’s economies. Quintanilla also spoke with Maybell Quantum’s Corban Tillemann-Dick and Elevate Quantum’s Zachary Yerushalmi about the future of quantum.
