Methodology

How the Data Is Built

Every record on the TQI Intelligence Platform passes through a five-stage pipeline that combines machine-scale collection with human validation.

01

Source ingestion

The platform monitors tens of thousands of sources across the global quantum sector continuously: company announcements, regulatory and securities filings, patent databases, peer-reviewed research, government procurement and funding portals, conference activity, and direct disclosures from companies and investors.

02

AI processing

The Resonance Intelligence Engine extracts, deduplicates, and structures raw signals into candidate records: new entities, funding rounds, partnerships, contracts, and personnel moves. AI handles volume, not judgment, and AI-assisted output is clearly marked in the product.

03

Analyst validation

Quantum-specialist analysts review every material record before it enters the database. Funding rounds are verified against primary sources. Company classifications are checked by people who understand the difference between a trapped-ion roadmap and a marketing deck. Ambiguous or unverifiable claims are flagged or excluded.

04

Taxonomy layer

Validated records are classified against TQI’s proprietary quantum taxonomy, built and refined since 2019. Every entity carries primary and secondary classifications across modality, application area, position in the value chain, and geography. This is what makes the data segmentable and comparable.

05

Structured output

The result is a relational database covering entity profiles, funding and investor data, patents and research, partnerships, and a graph explorer that maps relationships across the sector. The platform is updated daily, with data processed continuously.

Our edge

Aggregated public databases capture quantum as a tag. Generic research reports freeze the market at publication date. TQI’s pipeline produces data that is current, expert-verified, and structured specifically for quantum, which is why it is used by 200+ enterprise and government clients.

API access

The same data, in your stack

Everything in the platform is also available through the TQI Data API. Clients pipe it into their own workflows — internal dashboards, market maps, diligence pipelines and research tools — and into their LLM tools, so AI assistants answer from the analyst-validated TQI dataset instead of the open web.

Testimonials

What users say about our data platform

Understanding the Quantinuum market can be akin to understanding quantum physics itself. I have found that the TQI breaks down the market and allows me to look at the data how I want, simply and cleanly, separating out funding from investment to services and applications. This product again shows The Quantum Daily’s industry leadership.

FAQ

Quantum market intelligence, answered

What is quantum market intelligence?

Quantum market intelligence is structured, continuously updated data on the companies, investors, governments, and research institutions active in quantum technology, combined with analysis of the funding, partnerships, patents, and policy that move the sector. It covers the data types a quantum decision depends on: funding rounds and investors, patents and research output, national programs and government funding, and research groups and universities. Decision-makers get a verified view of where the quantum sector is moving, instead of a snapshot from a one-off report. The Quantum Insider delivers it as a live platform covering 2,100+ quantum companies, updated daily and validated by quantum-specialist analysts.

Traditional consulting reports are point-in-time documents, typically updated annually and built for a general executive audience. The TQI Intelligence Platform is a live database instead: updated daily, validated by quantum-specialist analysts, and queryable by taxonomy, geography, and technology modality, so every view reflects the market as it is now. It covers 2,100+ quantum companies, 2,000+ investors, and 1,300+ funding rounds, with the relationships between them mapped. A report answers the questions its authors anticipated. A live platform answers the question you have today.

Generalist data platforms cover every sector and treat quantum as a tag applied to company records. That produces two problems for quantum buyers: early-stage and non-US companies get missed, and companies with no real quantum activity get tagged as quantum. The Quantum Insider covers the quantum sector only, applies a proprietary taxonomy maintained by quantum-specialist analysts, and adds entity types generalist platforms do not carry: academic research groups, national quantum programs, and patents mapped to specific quantum modalities. Buyers who need cross-sector deal flow are usually better served by a generalist platform. Buyers making a quantum-specific decision need quantum-specific classification.

Large research and advisory firms cover every industry and publish periodic research, so quantum is one practice area among hundreds and findings age between publication cycles. TQI covers only quantum, and every analysis is built on a live, continuously updated dataset rather than research commissioned per project. The insight reflects the market as it is this week, not the last reporting cycle. TQI’s advisory engagements draw on the same dataset, which is why several generalist firms and their clients use TQI data as an input to their own quantum work.
Quantum market intelligence serves four buyer types. Quantum companies use it to benchmark competitors, size their market, and source partners and customers. Investors use it to run technical and commercial due diligence and to track deal flow across the sector. Enterprises use it to evaluate vendors, compare technology modalities, and time their quantum investments. Government agencies use it to design national quantum programs and measure them against peer nations. More than 200 enterprise and government clients use the TQI Intelligence Platform, including Fortune 500 companies, G7 government agencies, and national quantum initiatives.
Data on the platform is updated daily, with new records processed continuously as they are published. New funding rounds, partnerships, contracts, and company developments pass through the Resonance Intelligence Engine, which structures and deduplicates incoming records from company filings, funding announcements, patent databases, and government publications. Validation by analysts means a quantum-specialist analyst reviews each new entry before it is published, checking the classification against the TQI taxonomy and confirming the underlying source. Nothing is published on automation alone. The result is a dataset that reflects the sector as it is today, with a named analyst behind the records.
The TQI Intelligence Platform covers the full quantum sector as connected, queryable records. Company profiles span computing, networking, sensing, and security, classified by modality, subsector, geography, and stage. Investor and funding data covers 2,000+ investors and 1,300+ funding rounds with stage and date details. A research layer maps research groups, universities, and patents to specific quantum modalities. A government layer tracks national programs, public funding, and procurement opportunities. Partnerships and market reports sit alongside, and every entity connects through a graph explorer that maps relationships across the industry, so a company record opens onto its investors, patents, research affiliations, and partners.
The Quantum Insider tracks more than 2,100 quantum companies worldwide, spanning quantum computing, networking, sensing, and security. The count moves every week as new companies incorporate, spin out of universities, or exit. Each company is classified under a quantum-specific taxonomy covering technology modality, subsector, geography, and stage, so the total can be filtered to the definition you need rather than a single headline number. Company records connect to funding history, investors, patents, research affiliations, and partnerships, which is what separates a count from a usable dataset. Analysts review new entries before they publish.
Quantum funding data is available through the TQI Intelligence Platform, which tracks more than 1,300 funding rounds and 2,000 investors active in the sector. Rounds are recorded with investor lists, stage, and date, and are linked to the company record and its wider investor network. Coverage includes venture rounds, government grants and national program awards, and corporate investment, which matters in quantum because public funding accounts for a large share of capital in the sector. Data is updated daily and validated by analysts before publication. Free summaries of major rounds also run in the TQI newsroom.
TQI Intelligence Platform subscriptions are priced on two variables: the number of users on the account and the subscription type. Academic subscriptions are priced separately from enterprise subscriptions, so universities and research groups are not charged on a commercial scale. Enterprise pricing scales with seat count, which means a single analyst and a 30-person research team are not quoted the same way. Tell us your team size and subscription type, and we will come back with a quote.
Free quantum industry coverage is available through The Quantum Insider newsroom and the daily briefing, which reaches more than 60,000 subscribers and summarizes funding rounds, partnerships, government programs, and research developments as they happen. Free coverage answers what happened. The TQI Intelligence Platform is the paid product and answers the structured questions: which companies work on a given modality, who invested in them, what they have patented, which national programs fund them, and how they connect. Market reports and selected data summaries are also published free at intervals.

The TQI Intelligence Platform is engineered by the technology team at Resonance, TQI’s parent company, which operates intelligence platforms across quantum, AI, and space. The same team builds and runs the Resonance Intelligence Engine that powers data collection and processing.
