PRESS RELEASE — Veeco Instruments Inc. (NASDAQ: VECO), a global leader in advanced semiconductor and compound semiconductor process equipment, today announced wins with Sparrow Quantum (Denmark) and Yeungnam University (South Korea), who have selected Veeco’s Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) systems to strengthen their cutting-edge quantum research.
These selections reinforce Veeco’s position as a trusted enabler of quantum innovation, with more than 30 systems installed worldwide for quantum technology development.
Sparrow Quantum, a leader in quantum photonics, selected Veeco’s cutting-edge GENxcel R&D MBE system to support its development of high-performance quantum dot single-photon emitters. The partnership will support the growing market of photonic quantum computing and quantum communication.

Yeungnam University, a leading academic institution in South Korea, will utilize Veeco’s GEN10 MBE technology to expand its research capabilities in quantum dots and nanostructures. The system will support a broad range of initiatives aimed at developing next-generation quantum technologies.
According to McKinsey and Company, public and private investment into quantum computing startups totaled $2 billion in 2024. Moreover, public investment announcements have accelerated to reach $10 billion in early 2025.
