Insider Brief

  • Kiutra closed a new financing round co-led by NovaCapital and 55 North, raising its total funding above €30 million to accelerate global scale-up of helium-3-free cooling systems for quantum technologies.
  • The company’s proprietary magnetic cooling technology uses solid-state materials instead of scarce helium-3, addressing supply chain risks flagged by NATO and the EU.
  • With systems already deployed worldwide, Kiutra is expanding into modular cryogenic platforms to support complex quantum chips and full-stack quantum computers.

PRESS RELEASE — The successfully completed financing round will accelerate our global scale-up and delivering helium-3-free cooling systems that strengthen the resilience of quantum supply chains.

The round was co-led by international investors NovaCapital (Italy) and 55 North (Denmark), with participation from High-Tech Gründerfonds (Germany) and existing backers. With this financing, we have now raised more than €30 million in private and public funding, demonstrating strong investor confidence in our mission to build sustainable cryogenic infrastructure for quantum technologies.

As quantum technologies scale up worldwide, the need for reliable and sustainable cryogenics is becoming critical. Today, many systems rely on scarce helium-3, flagged by NATO and EU initiatives as a supply chain risk. Our proprietary magnetic cooling technology avoids helium-3 altogether, instead using solid-state materials that are magnetized and demagnetized in a controlled way to reach ultra-low temperatures.

With systems already deployed globally, supporting leading research institutions, startups, and corporates, we are now expanding into modular platforms tailored for complex quantum chips and full-stack quantum computers.

“This new investment will support kiutra in expanding our global presence and further advancing our portfolio of easy-to-use and scalable cooling solutions that are vital for the rapidly growing quantum ecosystem,” said Dr. Alexander Regnat, CEO & Co-Founder of kiutra.

The investment marks an important milestone as we move from an R&D-driven startup to an industrial scale-up. By making cryogenics simpler, safer and scalable, we are laying the foundations for a resilient, helium-3-free quantum supply chain in Europe and beyond.
