Serendipity Capital has announced the opening of its offices in London today, which will be run by its newly appointed Principal, Kurtis Gann. This will be the group’s second office globally and will serve as the main headquarters for the firm’s activities in the UK and Europe.
Serendipity Capital is a venture capital investor focused on addressing the investment gap in critical technologies. These include quantum computing, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, semiconductors, and advanced manufacturing, with a particular focus on companies in Five Eyes and strategically aligned countries.
The UK is a key market for Serendipity Capital and the industries in which it invests. The country boasts an exceptional ecosystem of educational and R&D institutions, strategic geopolitical positioning, and a supportive regulatory environment. Serendipity Capital has already made several investments in British critical technology startups, including Quantinuum, Pollination, QuantrolOx, Encompass, and Moth Quantum. Indeed, Serendipity Capital’s investments have produced an IRR of 23.2% since 2020.
Serendipity has today opened its new office in London to support and expand its activities in the UK. The office and these efforts will be led by Kurtis Gann, who has joined the group as Principal. Kurtis will focus on originating and executing investments in Europe.
Kurtis was previously a Senior Manager at Bain & Company, where he worked across the Enterprise Technology and Financial Services sectors as well as the group’s private equity division, advising financial sponsors. Kurtis also brings significant experience from the wider financial services industry, starting his career in Investment Banking at Nomura and Rothschild before taking on various corporate strategy and international growth-focused roles at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.
