PRESS RELEASE — ORIENTOM (CEO Seung Hyun Bang), a Korean quantum software company, and EQ Tech Energy (CEO Surawee Linharatanaruk), a Thai energy-solution company using quantum technology, announced today that they have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to develop and collaborate on the Quantum Electric Grid.
The Quantum Electric Grid presents a new power paradigm.
Orientom and EQ Tech will jointly develop power grid simulation and optimal distribution technology utilizing quantum computing technology to develop innovative solutions that go beyond the limitations of conventional power grids. The collaboration between the two companies is expected to build an energy optimization model that applies quantum algorithms and present a new paradigm for the domestic and international energy industry.

In particular:
- Operational Optimization calculates real-time power plant, electric vehicle, and storage operations to maximize efficiency.
- Simulation enhancement will enable complex power grid simulations with fast computation of tens of millions of scenarios.
- Security enhancement will lead the innovation of quantum electric grids by preventing hacking and enabling reliable communication with quantum cryptography.
It’s 2025, and quantum computing is entering the core infrastructure of the energy industry. The concept of a “Quantum Electric Grid” is moving from theory to reality, heralding a shift in the optimization, security, and efficiency of the power grid.
This collaboration marks an important milestone in maximizing the efficient operation of the grid and realizing the optimization of the global electricity supply chain.
