PRESS RELEASE — 4colors Research announces it has been awarded a proof-of-concept contract with Airbus to develop quantum-enhanced optimization solutions for aerospace production planning and logistics. The collaboration builds on 4colors Research’s success in the 2024 Airbus-BMW Quantum Computing Challenge, where the company demonstrated an innovative approach to quantum logistics optimization.
4colors Research has been selected by Airbus to further mature an optimization framework that integrates quantum computing capabilities with established mathematical optimization methodologies.
A Collaboration to Drive Technological Innovation
As quantum computing hardware continues its rapid advancement towards commercial viability, this partnership addresses the critical need for novel algorithms that could unlock quantum advantages in supply chain optimization. The collaboration aims to mature aerospace manufacturing efficiency, optimize production planning and logistics operations, and establish a clear roadmap synchronized with quantum hardware development timelines.

“Mathematical optimization supports structured decision-making across virtually every economic sector, including manufacturing and logistics,” said Dr. Marcin Kaminski, Founder and CEO of 4colors Research. “As optimization problems are computationally demanding, quantum computing will bring new techniques that allow us to solve these problems faster. We’re working with Airbus to develop new algorithms ready to harness this computational power.”
Bridging Theory and Practice
The proof of concept will rigorously benchmark 4colors Research’s optimization framework against Airbus’ production planning and logistics scenarios. The project focuses on algorithmic advancements essential for capturing quantum computational advantages in industrial applications. Through this collaboration, both companies will generate data-driven insights and establish implementation roadmaps that align with quantum hardware evolution.
This project aligns with 4colors Research’s mission to advance optimization algorithms across both classical and quantum computing paradigms. The company is building innovative optimization solutions that run today on classical computers while integrating new techniques that can leverage quantum resources and ultimately achieve quantum advantage. These solutions aim to overcome the computational challenges that define competitive advantage in aerospace and other industrial domains as quantum technology approaches commercial maturity.
Recent Recognition and Support
This collaboration with Airbus follows 4colors Research’s recognition as a semifinalist in the global XPRIZE Quantum Applications competition, sponsored by Google Quantum AI and the Geneva Science and Diplomacy Anticipator, as well as a recent grant award from Innovate UK, the United Kingdom’s innovation agency, to commercialize the company’s algorithmic technology for supply chain and logistics optimization.
