Insider Brief

  • Quantum Source announced ORIGIN, a deterministic resource-state generator for photonic quantum computing, with first deliveries expected by the end of 2026 and a keynote unveiling at the Quantum World Congress in Washington, D.C. on September 17, 2025.
  • ORIGIN uses cavity-QED photon-atom gate technology to generate large-scale entangled photonic cluster states, enabling room-temperature, compact, and scalable fault-tolerant quantum computers.
  • The company positions ORIGIN as a strategic platform for national security, scientific breakthroughs, and technological sovereignty, emphasizing its efficiency, manufacturability, and cost advantages over existing photonic approaches.

PRESS RELEASE —  Quantum Source, a leader in photonic quantum computing, today announced ORIGIN, its proprietary resource-state generator designed to power the next generation of large-scale, fault-tolerant photonic quantum computers. The first product is planned to be delivered to selected partners by the end of 2026. ORIGIN’s vision and concept will be presented at the Quantum World Congress (QWC) in Washington, D.C. on September 17, 2025, in a keynote session featuring Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, a member of the company’s Board, and Quantum Source Co-Founder and CEO Oded Melamed.

ORIGIN, built on Quantum Source’s proprietary Cavity-QED photon-atom gate technology, enables the deterministic generation of entangled photonic cluster states — the most crucial resource for large-scale photonic quantum computation. This breakthrough paves the way toward practical, fault-tolerant quantum computers that can operate at room temperature, fit within standard server racks, and scale to millions of qubits.

“With ORIGIN, we are not just building a much more efficient processor — we are building the foundation for a practical quantum future, where governments, enterprises, and researchers can solve problems previously thought impossible”, said Oded Melamed, Co-Founder and CEO of Quantum Source.

Current quantum systems are limited by noise and decoherence, which lead to high rate of errors and make them impractical for real-world applications. Overcoming these errors requires large-scale, high fidelity entangled states to create robust, fault-tolerant, logical qubits.

Quantum Source’s approach allows the efficient generation of such entangled states by replacing the probabilistic methods used in other photonic platforms with a deterministic photon-atom interaction using single atoms coupled to optical cavities on a chip, delivering:

  • Orders of magnitude higher efficiency in generating entangled photonic states
  • Room-temperature operation with no need for cryogenic cooling
  • Compact, scalable architecture manufacturable in commercial fabs
  • Significant reductions in cost, complexity, and power consumption

“Quantum computing will redefine national security, science, and industry,” said Naftali Bennett, Former Prime Minister of Israel and Quantum Source Board Member. “Nations that master this technology will lead in defense, innovation, and economic growth. Quantum Source’s ORIGIN is the kind of innovation that can put countries, academic institutions and companies at the forefront of the quantum era.”

Quantum Source’s technology addresses critical priorities for governments, academia, and industry:

  • Technological Sovereignty – Ensuring domestic control of strategic computing infrastructure
  • National Security – Preparing for the eventual obsolescence of classical encryption
  • Scientific Breakthroughs – Accelerating drug discovery, materials research, climate modeling, and logistics optimization
