The historic Mansion House in London will once again play host The CIty Quantum and AI Summit, a landmark event that brings together thought leaders, scientists and industry experts to explore the intersection of quantum computing and artificial intelligence (AI). Hosted by Lord Mayor Michael Mainelli and organized by Redcliffe Advisory, the day-long gathering on On Monday, Oct. 7 will focus on the potential of these cutting-edge technologies to drive societal good and address some of the world’s most pressing challenges.

The event will begin with a light lunch, providing attendees with an opportunity to network and discuss the day’s agenda. At 13:00, Lord Mayor Michael Mainelli will officially open the proceedings with a welcome speech, setting the stage for a day of insightful discussions. Karina Robinson, representing Redcliffe Advisory, will follow with a few words of welcome, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors in advancing quantum and AI technologies.

The first major session, “The Lord Mayor’s Colloquy: Quantum & AI for Good,” will be chaired by Bruce Beckloff, CEO of Bloc Ventures and Yellow Dog. The panel will feature a diverse group of experts, including Elham Kashefi, Chief Scientist at the National Quantum Computing Centre (NQCC), Julia Sutcliffe, Chief Scientific Adviser at the Department of Business and Trade, Hans Henrik Knudsen, Co-Founder & CEO of Kvantify, and Steve Suarez, Founder & CEO of HorizonX. The panelists will explore how quantum computing and AI can be harnessed for societal benefit, particularly in areas such as healthcare, climate change, and social equity.

At 14:30, the focus will shift to the space sector with a panel titled “To Infinity and Beyond – Advances in Space,” chaired by Lord Willets, Chair of the UK Space Agency. The discussion will include insights from Julie Holt-Jones, Co-Founder of Space4Sight, Jay Lowell, Principal Senior Technical Fellow at Boeing, and Kata Escott CB, UK Managing Director at Airbus Defence and Space Ltd. The panelists will delve into the latest advancements in space technology, highlighting the role of quantum and AI in enhancing satellite communications, deep space exploration, and national security.

After a brief coffee break, attendees will reconvene for the “Defence Panel: Bringing Quantum & AI Innovation to the Fore in a Hostile World.” Chaired by Major General James Chiswell CB, CBE, MC, the panel will feature Rear Admiral Nick Wheeler, Director at NATO Digital, Enrique Lizaso, Co-Founder & CEO of Multiverse Computing, and Dr. Gillian Marshall, Head of Quantum Technologies at Qinetiq. The discussion will center on the strategic importance of integrating quantum and AI technologies into defense systems to maintain a technological edge in an increasingly hostile global landscape.

The final panel of the day, “Finance Panel: Transforming the Bottom Line Through Deep Tech,” will be chaired by Colin Bell, CEO of HSBC Bank plc and HSBC Europe. Panelists will include Alexandra Mousavizadeh, CEO of Evident, and Sholthana Beghum, Head of Data at the Financial Conduct Authority. The discussion will focus on how quantum computing and AI can revolutionize the financial sector, from risk management and fraud detection to algorithmic trading and regulatory compliance.

The day will conclude with two fireside chats. The first, “Correlation and Causation in Quantum & AI,” will feature Jon Hammant, Specialist Lead for the UK & Ireland at AWS, and Roman Orus, Co-Founder & CSO of Multiverse Computing. The second, “Quantum & AI, Parallel Workings,” will be led by Elica Kyoseva, Director of Quantum Algorithm Engineering, Nvidi  and Malak Trabelsi Loeb, Founder of the Quantum Innovation Summit in Dubai. These sessions will provide a more intimate setting for exploring the complex relationships between quantum computing and AI and their implications for the future.

As the formal sessions wrap up, attendees will gather for a drinks reception themed “Quantum and NATO: Rising to the Challenge,” with remarks from Matija Matoković, Deputy Head of NATO’s Innovation Unit. The evening will conclude with an invitation-only dinner where Dame Anne Richards DBE, Vice Chair of Fidelity International, will converse with Kasim Kutay, CEO of Novo Holdings, about the transformative impact of quantum and AI on healthcare.
