  • Quandela delivered its first quantum computer, MosaiQ, to one of OVHcloud datacenters.
  • OVHcloud becomes the first European cloud services provider to own a quantum system based on photonic processors.
  • Three additional machines are currently in production at Quandela factory.

PRESS RELEASE — Quandela, the European leader in photonic quantum computing, has delivered its first quantum computer, MosaiQ, to one of OVHcloud datacenters. This delivery marks a significant milestone for Quandela, as it becomes the first European quantum computing player to supply a machine to an industrial client.

During the inauguration of the first “Maison du quantique” at Station F, Michel Paulin, CEO of OVHcloud, announced the delivery of Quandela quantum computer at one of OVHcloud datacenters.

This makes Quandela the first European quantum computing player to provide a quantum platform to an industrial client. With this acquisition, OVHcloud becomes the first European cloud services provider to own a quantum system based on photonic processors.

In March, OVHcloud announced its acquisition of a first Quandela machine, with delivery scheduled for the fall of 2023. In June, Quandela inaugurated its first quantum computer factory in Massy, thereby gaining the necessary capabilities to industrialize the manufacturing process and design the next generations of photonic quantum computers, both for on-site sales and cloud access. The machine delivered to OVHcloud is the first quantum computer to come out of this new factory.
Leveraging the photonic technology developed by Quandela, the quantum computer installed at OVHcloud datacenter is modular and scalable. Equipped with a reconfigurable quantum processor, it will be possible to add new modules to increase its computational capabilities.

Three additional machines are currently in production at Quandela factory, with deliveries planned for 2024. Quandela is committed to enabling an increasing number of industrial partners to harness their technology to develop algorithms for real-world use cases.

“OVHcloud is delighted to support Quandela as a European quantum ecosystem player. Acquiring the QPU MosaiQ will allow us to pave the way for quantum cloud computing, expanding our R&D horizons to grow together in this fascinating field” Miroslaw Klaba, R&D Director at OVHcloud

“We are grateful for the trust placed in us by the OVHcloud teams, and we are particularly proud that the first computer produced in our factory is destined for them. Our teams have successfully ensured a timely delivery and will closely oversee the process of integration into business applications.” — Jean Senellart, Chief Product Officer at Quandela,
