PRESS RELEASE — OVHcloud, a global player and European leader in cloud computing, established in Canada since 2011, and a cofounding member of France Quantum, is taking part today in the fifth edition of the event. With over 1,500 attendees and 60 speakers, France Quantum 2026 hosts European quantum computing specialists for a day of conferences and talks on the latest technological advances and their use cases. Octave Klaba, founder and CEO of OVHcloud, will be on stage to discuss the quantum ecosystem progresses and announce OVHcloud developments.
OVHcloud and Welinq to work on tomorrow’s data centres
As part of its research and development initiatives, OVHcloud has begun a collaboration with Welinq to define the future of data centres. This collaboration is aimed at interconnecting and orchestrating quantum computers’ networking technologies based on different types of qubits.
Designed to help in the scaling of quantum technologies, Welinq’s solution allows the creation of homogeneous or heterogeneous clusters of quantum computers with classical resources. This research approach supports the flexible allocation of compute workloads to the optimal platforms depending on the use case and the evolution of quantum technologies.
“The future of quantum computing is not only a matter of raw power but also depends on their ability to be networked and orchestrated within computing infrastructures. We are proud to see OVHcloud amongst the first players to deploy this new generation of technologies and contribute with us to emerging future quantum data centres,” said Tom Darras, CEO and co-founder of Welinq.
“For OVHcloud, a European pioneer of quantum computing, innovation plays a key role. We are delighted to work with Welinq to leap ahead by designing the data centres of tomorrow to the benefit of the European quantum computing ecosystem,” said Miroslaw Klaba, Research & Development Director for OVHcloud.
Quobly first quantum computer to join OVHcloud Quantum Platform in late 2026
Announced during the OVHcloud Summit 2025, the OVHcloud Quantum Platform offers a “as-a-service” consumption mode for its QPUs. It helps to make the technology more widely accessible for public and private organizations. With the Pasqal QPU and Belenos from Quandela, the Quantum Plaftorm will offer the quantum technology developed by Quobly.
Based on spin qubits on silicon, Quobly’s technology leverages conventional semi-conductor industrial standards, using 300mm FD-SOI wafers. This approach aims to industrialize quantum compute while maintaining compatibility with existing compute infrastructures.
“Our goal is to make quantum computing available for users in their usual compute environments. By joining the OVHcloud Quantum Platform, we are preparing the arrival of new simulation capacities and hybrid compute that will allow researchers and industrial players to explore applications that, up until now, were out of reach for conventional architectures,” declared Maud Vinet, CEO and cofounder of Quobly.
Expected for late 2026, the first commercially available Quobly quantum computer, Alloy Pioneer, is designed and developed in France and will be available on the OVHcloud’s sovereign cloud as a world first.

MENTIONED IN THE ARTICLE

OVHcloud is a French cloud computing company and the largest European cloud provider, offering a comprehensive suite of public, private, and hybrid cloud solutions, bare metal servers, and web hosting services. Founded in 1999, it plays an essential role in the space economy by partnering with the European Space Agency (ESA) and the German Aerospace Center (DLR) to host massive Earth observation and satellite data platforms, such as the Copernicus long term archiving service and the Digital EO system, which aggregates storage, computing power, and AI tools for space research.

Quobly, formerly Siquance, was founded in 2022 to develop and commercialize a universal large-scale quantum computer using proven semiconductor-industry processes. Quobly specializes in silicon-based quantum computing, focusing on scalable quantum processors. It develops silicon spin qubit QPUs using FD‑SOI semiconductor manufacturing to address challenges such as high‑complexity simulations in energy systems, drug discovery, and materials. It emphasizes industrial manufacturability and cost efficiency, working with RTOs and semiconductor partners (e.g., CEA‑Leti, CNRS, STMicroelectronics) to deliver fault-tolerant quantum systems capable of tackling real-world problems now intractable for classical supercomputers.

Quandela is a French startup that specializes in photonic quantum computing by providing modular, scalable, and energy-efficient photonic quantum computers, accessible both on the cloud and on premise. They provide prototyping services with their Perceval simulator alongside their general purpose chips optimized chips, and development of algorithms and protocols which provide photonic solutions for applications ranging from pharmaceutical and material design, to quantum machine learning, networking and optimization.
