The Unitary Fund team, a leading advocate for the quantum open source community, is organizing its first Quantum Open Source Software (QOSS) survey to better understand the quantum computing community’s background and its current needs.
The survey, which will cover information on demographics, experience, community, research, tech stack, will help the organization and to improve the products, services, events and educational material that it offers. Participants will be encouraged to provide specific feedback.
A related survey seeks to gather information about the state of Diversity and Inclusion of the Quantum Open Source Software (QOSS) community.
Unitary Fund officials hope that people who code or wants to code for and with quantum computing technologies will fill out both of these surveys so they can get a better idea of the collective opinion of these issues within the quantum community.
According to the survey documentation: “The purpose of this survey is to gather a dataset that is inclusive and representative of current and prospective open-source software (OSS) coders, for and with quantum technologies (QT) in order to better serve users of the quantum computing ecosystem.”
The organization expects to share the results with the entire quantum community once the data has been collected.
