Quantum China Weekly

Quantum China WeeklyQuantum China is a weekly periodical focusing on China’s quantum information technology, provide a voice for the Chinese quantum technology. It mainly focuses on eight major directions: Policy, Capital, Business, Technology, Research, Education, Conference, and People. Providing researchers, Interested parties, and industry pioneers with all the latest developments in China’s quantum field.

Research

Tsinghua University achieves the first multi-ion cooperative laser cooling

Tsinghua University has made important progress in the field of quantum information processing in ion traps. By laser cooling a small number of optimally selected ions, the first efficient cooperative cooling of long ion chains is achieved, and the limit temperature close to global laser cooling is obtained, laying a technical foundation for multi-ion bit quantum computing. The research results have been published in Physical Review Letters.

Education

Quantum science exhibition officially opens to the public

Anhui Science and Technology Museum Quantum Science and Technology Theme Exhibition was officially opened to the public during the National Day, with an exhibition area of 600 square meters and 31 exhibits. The museum also prepared a series of popular science activities such as the science play “The Birth of the Quantum Cat”, the science show “The Unknown Secrets of Quantum Communication”, and the parent-child exploration “Unsurpassed Quantum Precision Measurement”.

Conferences

2021 WE Forum

WE Forum is a large international academic forum hosted by Westlake University, with several sub-forums. The School of Physics has a sub-forum on the theme of “Quantum Matter and Quantum Information”. The forum focuses on the exploration of novel quantum states and the organizing principles behind them in condensed matter physics, such as superconductivity, quantum magnetism, topological physics, and ultracold atomic states, and the exchange and interaction of the frontiers of quantum physics research (including quantum information and quantum computing), providing an open platform for researchers to communicate and discuss, and promoting innovation in cross-disciplinary directions.
