Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Jiangxi Normal University Collaborate to Make Important Breakthrough in Quantum Communication Network

Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Jiangxi Normal University have collaborated to make an important breakthrough in quantum communication networks: they have achieved the first secure communication between 15 users in a network with a transmission distance of 40 km using the principle of quantum-safe direct communication. The research lays the foundation for future satellite-based quantum communication networks and global quantum communication networks. The related paper has been published in Light: science & applications.

Xianmin Jin’s team at Shanghai Jiao Tong University makes important progress in quantum walking

Xianmin Jin’s team at Shanghai Jiao Tong University has realized a scalable scheme for multi-photon quantum walks, which can be combined with problems in graph theory. Whether doing simulations or computations, the larger the space of encodable graph states one has, the better, when facing increasingly complex problems. This research progress can drive the development of quantum computing and quantum simulation based on quantum walks. A related paper has been published in Optica.

Alibaba makes important progress on classical simulations of quantum computing

Alibaba Damo Academy’s Quantum Lab and Aliyun ECS collaborators have made important progress on the topic of classical simulations of quantum computing. The paper presents a distributed tensor network shrinkage algorithm framework that achieves more than 3 orders of magnitude speedup on a class of random quantum circuits, achieving the best simulation results in the world under equivalent computing conditions. The research results have been published in Nature Computational Science.

USTC proposed and realized noiseless photon-echo

A research team at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) has proposed and implemented propose a noiseless photon-echo(NLPE) protocol. Compared with previous methods, NLPE reduces noise by a factor of 670, enabling high-fidelity solid-state quantum memory. the high efficiency and ease of implementation of NLPE give it a huge advantage as a noise-free quantum memory. This research makes another step forward in long-range quantum communication. The related paper has been published in Nature Communications.

SUSTech makes important progress in the field of hidden spin-orbit coupling

SUSTech and the Institute of Quantum Science and Engineering have made progress in the field of hidden spin polarization, which has discovered a new class of symmetry-induced spin-momentum-layer locking phenomena and bridged the gap of hidden spin polarization measurement in the full Brillouin zone, which can inspire the design of spin devices based on hidden spin polarization. The paper has been published in Phys. The related paper has been published in Physical Review Letters.
