Initiatives like these will be crucial for quantum computing (QC) to reach a wider audience and mainstream acceptance by technology advocates and the masses alike.
Another such organization, PushQuantum out of Munich, Germany, is doing just that.
‘We accelerate quantum technologies by educating, connecting, and inspiring the quantum innovators of tomorrow.’
— PushQuantum
PushQuantum
Founded in April of this year by five like-minded individuals, PushQuantum’s main goal will be to focus its resources on ‘industry, academia, early adopters of quantum technologies, and students passionate about the topic’ by using what the organization calls its ‘exploration strategy’.
This consists of:
— […] creat[ing] the quantum workforce of tomorrow we connect inspiring people and foster exchange about quantum topics and engage growth as a collective.
— […] mak[ing] quantum knowledge accessible and educate our members on groundbreaking discoveries in the quantum field.
— […] create[ing] opportunities for promising individuals to make a real impact by working on hands-on projects to apply quantum uses cases in the real world.
So, what about the PushQuantum team?
President Raúl Berganza Gómez is a computer scientist by profession researching quantum computing. With an MSc in computational science and engineering from the Technical University of Munich (TUM), he is currently pursuing an honours degree in technology management.
Next, we have Magomed Abdulaev. With a BS at TUM, he is now in the middle of his MS in medical engineering, also at the same university.
Computer scientist Christopher Masurek has a BS in computer science from The Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg. Impressively, he is concurrently studying for two masters degrees: one in logic, computation and AI at the Universidad de Sevilla, Spain; the other, in computer science at the Ludwig-Maximilians Universität, Munich.
Giorgos Chnitidis, as per his LinkedIn profile, is a ‘quantum enthusiast with a computational science background passionate about Quantum information technologies and the application of quantum computing in real-world cases in many areas such as artificial intelligence, cryptography and physics. He graduated with an MS in production and management engineering from the Democritus University of Thrace (D.U.Th.). Like his founding members, he is currently in the middle of an MS degree in computational science from TUM.
Finally, we have the last founding member, Zeno Fox. At the moment busy in the middle of his B.Sc at TUM in management and technology, he is also president of START Munich (which Abdulaev is also a member of), another non-profit initiative that is ‘bringing together the innovators who will change the world’.
Without a doubt, PushQuantum’s team is young and inexperienced in QC. Yet, youth and enthusiasm oftentimes trump other skills.
TQD hopes to be hearing more from these young men in the near future.
