How you can use it
One named user at your organization, for internal work.
Everyone at your organization, and use in deliverables for your own clients.
One-time purchase, not a subscription.
This is the data only. It does not include access to the TQI Intelligence Platform.
At the single license price that is about $15 a disclosed transaction, or $40 a verified system price. Per vendor is the one cut this dataset is not built for: it is a record of deals and prices, not a contact list.
Both licenses permit the citation Source: The Quantum Insider. Neither permits redistributing the workbook, reselling the data, or publishing the full tables.
Delivered by email link as an Excel workbook and a PDF briefing. Invoice or payment link on request. Purchase orders accepted.

How this dataset is built
Sources
- Vendor and customer announcements, securities filings, procurement notices, and conference disclosures, monitored continuously by the Resonance Intelligence Engine.
- Direct disclosures from vendors and customers where TQI has a relationship.
Inclusion rules
- A deal is included when a named vendor and a named or described customer agree to a sale, lease, cloud-access contract, or funded research engagement involving a quantum computer.
- Multi-system orders are split into one line per system when the announcement supports it, grouped by order ID.
- Government grants to vendors without a buyer are excluded.
Validation
- Every row is verified against its primary source by a quantum market analyst before it enters the dataset.
- Estimated values use disclosed list prices, comparable deals, and vendor guidance; the estimate basis is recorded in the comments field.
Confidence
Announced values are recorded as disclosed. Estimated values carry an analyst confidence note. Rows flagged N in include_in_stats are excluded from every total.
Known limitations
- Vendors disclose a minority of deal values, so totals lean on estimates for about half of rows.
- Cloud access contracts rarely disclose usage, so QCaaS lines understate cloud revenue.
- China is covered through public announcements only.
What buyers do with it
Vendor benchmarking
Compare vendors by deals, value, regions, customer types, and installed base, with the evidence behind every figure.
Revenue validation
Cross-check public-company revenue and private-company claims against disclosed and estimated deal values.
Procurement pricing
Anchor a budget or a bid with the price table for 75 systems by model, qubits, and access type.
Versions
- Quarterly refresh. Records, sources and the methodology sheet reviewed.
- Q1 2026 refresh: 2026 deals added, system prices revised.
- Masterfile consolidation with modality, HPC, and delivery status fields.
- Vendor report edition with price table introduced.

How many quantum computers have been sold?
TQI tracks 204 disclosed quantum computing deals from 2013 to early 2026, including 142 system sales. Who sold them, who bought them, and what they were worth.
How much does a quantum computer cost?
Quantum computers cost from tens of thousands of dollars for teaching systems to over $100M for HPC installations. Median deal and price per qubit by modality.
Who buys quantum computers?
Most quantum computers go to public institutions: HPC centers, research agencies, defense labs, and universities. Buyer types and regions in 204 tracked deals.
About this dataset
Yes. Quantum computing as a service contracts are recorded as QCaaS Access deals with the customer, vendor, and any disclosed value. Usage volumes are rarely disclosed, so cloud lines understate cloud revenue.
Analysts estimate from the vendor's list prices, comparable deals for the same model and qubit count, and vendor guidance. The basis is recorded in the comments field so you can accept or override it.
No. This dataset covers quantum computing only. Networking and sensing deployments are being packaged as a separate dataset covering 103 networking deals, 83 sensing deals, and 40 network deployments. Use Notify me on the Datasets page to hear when it ships.
Quarterly, aligned to TQI's QPU sales update. The version you buy is the one current at purchase, and the update log on this page shows what changed.
