Insider Brief

  • QuantumGate and NEC GCC have entered a strategic collaboration focused on post-quantum security, sovereign cybersecurity and cyber resilience for critical infrastructure and telecommunications in the UAE.
  • The companies will work across cryptographic asset inventory, post-quantum readiness planning, phased migration programs and sovereign cyber resilience deployments.
  • NEC GCC will support deployment and integration while QuantumGate provides post-quantum and cybersecurity technologies for identity, networks and endpoints.

QuantumGate, a quantum-safe cybersecurity firm based in Abu Dhabi and a subsidiary of VentureOne, has entered a strategic collaboration with NEC Corporation’s GCC branch, the companies announced. The partnership is focused on accelerating the rollout of post-quantum security, sovereign cybersecurity, and cyber resilience solutions for organizations operating in critical infrastructure and telecommunications across the United Arab Emirates.

The joint effort targets two categories of risk, according to the announcement. One is the long-term threat posed by quantum computing, data encrypted today with long confidentiality requirements could become vulnerable once cryptographically relevant quantum computers arrive. The other is the current threat landscape, where state-sponsored actors, AI-driven malware, and organized hacktivist campaigns are actively targeting government, energy, telecommunications, transport, and other critical sectors.

VentureOne operates as the venture builder of the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC), Mid-East.info reported.

Four Priority Areas

The collaboration between QuantumGate and NEC GCC covers four areas of focus, as outlined in the announcement:

Cryptographic asset visibility and inventory: The two companies will work on identifying, mapping, and evaluating cryptographic assets across networks, applications, devices, and data to determine an organization’s quantum-risk exposure baseline.

Post-quantum readiness planning: This involves creating migration roadmaps tied to regulatory frameworks, international standards, and sector-level compliance requirements, while also accounting for cryptographic agility and sovereign control.

Scalable migration programs: Pilot deployments will be expanded into phased, multi-year programs designed to transition complex enterprise environments to quantum-safe cryptography.

Sovereign cyber resilience deployment: QuantumGate‘s security products will be deployed in parallel with post-quantum migration efforts to strengthen defenses across identity, networks, and endpoints. The announcement lists phishing-resistant passwordless authentication, QSphere for sovereign post-quantum secure access, and Secure VMI for device-independent enterprise mobility among the technologies involved.

NEC GCC will handle deployment and integration work, supporting implementation within mission-critical environments, according to Mid-East.info. The company’s background in large-scale infrastructure transformation is intended to help organizations move from assessment through to execution, covering cryptographic discovery, secure access, and enterprise mobility.

What the Companies Said

Janne Hirvimies, QuantumGate‘s Chief Technology Officer, said: “Over the past 12 months, we’ve seen clear progress and growing awareness around quantum security, and the focus is now shifting to execution. Migration is a complex, multi-year effort, and it builds on the same foundation as strong cyber resilience today. Together with NEC GCC, we are helping organizations reduce exposure across identity, networks and endpoints while building the cryptographic infrastructure they will rely on in the quantum era.”

Tamer Bdran, Senior Vice President and Managing Director at NEC GCC, said: “Critical infrastructure and telecommunications operators need a partner who can take them from assessment to secure, scalable deployment. By combining NEC’s systems integration capabilities with QuantumGate‘s post-quantum and sovereign cybersecurity technologies, we can support government entities, enterprises and telecommunications operators through every stage of that transition.”
