Insider Brief

  • Singapore-based quantum-safe cybersecurity company pQCee raised US$3.9 million in a seed funding round co-led by SGInnovate and Lotus One Investment to accelerate global expansion and development of its post-quantum security products.
  • The funding follows a US$2.8 million institutional round in 2022 and will support hiring, expansion across Asia, and entry into the United States, Europe and the Middle East as demand for quantum-resilient cybersecurity grows.
  • pQCee offers a portfolio of crypto-agile security technologies, including its SafeQuard encryption platform and QKDLite key management middleware, and has partnerships with companies including Thales, Microsoft, PQShield, Feitian, Netrust and SendQuick to support enterprise adoption of post-quantum security.

pQCee Pte Ltd (pQCee), a leading provider of quantum‑safe cybersecurity technologies, today announced that it has raised US$3.9 million in its latest Seed funding round. The round was co‑led by SGInnovate and Lotus One Investment, with participation from In Group Holdings, Wavemaker Ventures, SUTD Ventures Holdings, and Apsara Investments.

This marks pQCee’s second institutional funding round, following an initial US$2.8 million raise in 2022 co‑led by Wavemaker Ventures and SEEDS (arm of SG Growth Capital, the investment platform of EDB and Enterprise Singapore), with participation from SGInnovate, Mirana Capital, Paragon Capital Management, and Apsara Investments. The earlier round supported the development of pQCee’s flagship products, including SafeQuard and QKDLite, which are used by critical national infrastructure providers, government agencies and financial institutions to mitigate against harvest-now-decrypt-later quantum threats.

This funding enables us to accelerate our mission of making quantum‑safe security easy to deploy and hard to break. As global regulations tighten and the threat landscape evolves, organisations need practical, interoperable solutions they can adopt today. We are grateful for the trust of our investors and partners as we scale our team and expand globally.” — Dr Teik Guan Tan, CEO, pQCee

pQCee is pioneering advanced, crypto-agile solutions designed to insulate organisations against the emerging threats of the quantum era. Its groundbreaking technology portfolio is headlined by SafeQuard, which provides end-to-end encryption to neutralise ‘harvest-now-decrypt-later’ attacks, and QKDLite, a sophisticated middleware for key management that adheres to rigorous standards such as PKCS#11, ETSI QKD 014 and FIPS 203.

pQCee’s portfolio of solutions also extends to inoQulate for post-quantum PKI certificates, and the QuICScript tool, which uniquely enables users to experience a 20-qubit quantum simulator directly within their browser. By integrating these solutions—alongside specialised capabilities like ownership assurance for digital assets and quantum-safe Web3 protections—pQCee is able to deliver a comprehensive, interoperable, and future-proof architecture that empowers enterprises to transition securely to quantum-resilient environments with operational ease.

pQCee has established a strong ecosystem of partners to enhance the reach, practicality, and real-world adoption of quantum-safe solutions. These include collaborations with Thales and Feitian, with the integration of pQCee solutions with their hardware security modules and secure devices; Netrust and SendQuick, to extend quantum‑safe protection into digital identity, messaging, and enterprise workflows; and PQShield, to ensure alignment with the latest post‑quantum cryptographic standards. The company has also partnered with Microsoft and TechCreate to support seamless deployment of crypto-agile cybersecurity across enterprise IT environments and hardware‑based trust systems.

With the new capital, pQCee will expand its team in Singapore, deepen its presence across Asia, and accelerate entry into the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. The company is scaling to meet growing global demand for quantum‑resilient security infrastructure as organisations prepare for the post‑quantum era.

“As Q-day rapidly approaches due to advances not just in quantum but also in AI and materials, companies and governments are becoming more aware of the threat this poses to existing systems. We see pQCee playing a role in providing a solution to this problem, and are delighted to continue supporting Dr Tan and his team as they scale their solution to the global stage. Dr Tan is of course no stranger to us. We were investors in his first cybersecurity startup, and investing in his second venture was an obvious thing to do for us.” — Hsien-Hui Tong, Executive Director – Investments, SGInnovate

“The best infrastructure companies solve problems before the market fully recognizes them. Quantum-safe security is one of those rare opportunities. By the time quantum risk becomes everyone’s priority, the category leaders will already be built. We look forward to supporting their expansion into new markets.” — Nirmal Singh, Chairman Lotus One Investment

“Today’s encryption methods will no longer be secure in a post-quantum era, making investment in quantum-safe solutions a necessity, not an option. pQCee’s holistic suite of solutions simplifies post-quantum cryptography (PQC) migration for enterprises, reducing complexity in integration, procurement, and cost. As regulations globally mandate critical systems to complete PQC migration by as early as 2030, we believe pQCee, backed by its founding team’s expertise, is well-positioned to capture early demand.”  — Paul Santos, Co-founder and Managing Partner, Wavemaker Partners
